The Whizbang garden windvane (a.k.a., weathervane) was designed by Herrick Kimball. The original prototype was tested for 8+ years, through all kinds of weather in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. The first production run of 50 vanes was produced by Herrick in May of 2023. You can purchase an already-made Whizbang windvane on this page, but please do not purchase until you have watched the informative YouTube videos below.

If you would prefer to make your own Whizbang-inspired windvane, there are no detailed how-to instructions (yet), but the following two videos provide sufficient construction insights for a confidently handy person to get the job done. To make the project easier, you can purchase an already-made pivot assembly and receiver below.

When you purchase an already-made Whizbang windvane, you will receive the directional arrow and pivot assembly, as pictured above. You will need to set up your pole and make tape bushings to accommodate your pole diameter. Both of those tasks are explained in the previous videos.
